A passionate and ambitious engineer
As a business engineer, you develop commercial activity, support clients in their projects, and oversee the progression of the engineers in your team. Your day‑to‑day work involves creating opportunities, managing projects end‑to‑end, and working closely with technical teams.
You build and expand a diverse client portfolio (large accounts, mid‑caps, SMEs, and start‑ups).
You manage and coordinate challenging projects, working directly with technical teams.
You work hand in hand with our directors, key account managers, and clients to establish high value‑added partnerships such as competence centers or fixed‑price projects.
You identify top engineering talent, recruit them, and ensure smooth onboarding.
You provide operational follow‑up and career management for your engineers, guiding them toward professional excellence in the fields they are passionate about.
You build long‑term relationships with both clients and engineers, ensuring their satisfaction and development within the company.
Our commercial and managerial roles
At ADVANS Group, business engineering roles offer varied responsibilities and real career prospects, aligned with your experience and ambitions.

Over time, several career paths are available depending on your experience, ambitions, and development goals. Below are the main roles within ADVANS Group’s business engineering teams:
Typically starts in tandem with a senior account manager or business unit manager. After an initial experience (often as a recent graduate), they learn the fundamentals of the role (prospecting, account opening, recruitment, assignment follow‑up) and begin managing their own accounts.
After one year of experience, becomes autonomous in prospecting, account opening, and project launches. Actively contributes to recruitment and ensures operational follow‑up of several engineers.
After two years in business engineering, manages a portfolio of around 10 engineers. Fully autonomous in business development, carries more complex offerings (competence centers), and assumes line management responsibility.
After two years as an account manager, manages 15 to 25 engineers. Masters the sales cycle and client retention, delivers complex offerings (competence centers, service centers, and fixed‑price projects), and oversees junior business engineers.
With 3 to 5 years of experience, manages up to 30 engineers. Leads global solutions (multi‑site, multi‑company), may act as a Key Account Manager, and becomes a reference for complex projects.
After acquiring strong experience in commercial management (often following a senior account manager or business unit manager role), oversees relationships with one or more of the group’s major clients, with annual revenue exceeding one million euros.
Coordinates all ADVANS Group teams involved on the account (business engineers, account managers, business unit managers, technical and quality management), across multiple sites internationally.
The KAM is the client’s primary point of contact, ensuring satisfaction, performance, and business development on the strategic account.
Note:
After two years as an business engineer, leads an entity of around 35 engineers. Oversees business development, P&L, recruitment, and team management.
After two years as a business unit manager, leads a structure of around 70 engineers. Defines local commercial strategy, manages the P&L, and supervises account and business unit managers.
After two years as a center manager, oversees around 100 engineers across an expanded scope.
With more than five years of experience, manages an entire region with over 100 engineers and defines long‑term regional commercial strategy.
